This is a slightly different version of "Embrace and Extinguish."

I really hope nobody is foolish enough to take him up on it. It's like the big oil company coming to the inventor of a new engine that runs on tap water, "Oh, we want to take this mainstream." When in actuality, they want to make sure to get the intellectual property rights so they can shelve it.

It never ends well.

So true. I find it so disturbing that so many projects in the twitter thread are trying to get twitter folks use their protocols.
